tuckahub ("we", "us") is an online ordering platform for food trucks, operated from Western Australia by [TO BE CONFIRMED: legal entity name, ABN]. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what we do with it. We aim to comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
When you place an order with a food truck through tuckahub, we collect:
- Your name, as you enter it, so the truck can call your order.
- Your mobile number, so we can text you when your order is ready.
- Your email address, if you choose to provide it, for your order receipt.
- Your order details — what you bought, from which truck, and when.
For food truck owners and their staff, we additionally collect account details (email, password, business information such as truck name and menu) needed to run their storefront.
We do not collect more than the ordering flow needs, and we do not build advertising profiles from your orders.
Payments
Card payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe and never touches our servers; we see only the payment outcome and the amounts needed to settle with the truck. Stripe's handling of your data is covered by Stripe's privacy policy.
Text messages
Order-status texts are sent through Twilio, which processes your mobile number for that purpose. We send only transactional messages about your order — no marketing SMS.
What we never do
- We do not sell personal information. To anyone.
- We do not share your details with other trucks or third parties for marketing.
- We do not send marketing communications without your consent.
Who can see your information
The truck you order from sees your name, mobile number and order — the same things they would learn taking the order at the window. Our service providers (hosting, Stripe for payments, Twilio for SMS) process data only as needed to deliver the service. Some providers may store data outside Australia; where they do, we rely on their compliance with comparable privacy safeguards.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept as long as needed for the trucks' business and tax records and for our legal obligations. You can ask us to delete personal information that we no longer need — see below.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in access-controlled databases. Truck staff can only see the orders of their own truck.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by contacting [TO BE CONFIRMED: privacy contact email]. We will respond within a reasonable time. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Changes
If this policy changes in substance we will update this page and the date above.
